Thanks for your interest in supporting the next phase of the American Muslims project.
We have exciting plans ahead.
Next May, PBS will broadcast the American Muslims films nationwide—timed to the 250th anniversary of American independence. It’s a rare chance to put Muslim histories at the center of a conversation about identity, history, and whose faith should be part of the national story.
To maximize this opportunity, we are developing:
A national Press, PR, and Social Media Campaign
Designed to bring the films to broad public attention and spark dialogue during the semiquincentennial, including a series of high-profile launch events in major cities.A second phase of community screenings
Focused on cross-community and interfaith dialogue, building on the more than 25 screenings already held nationwide.A permanent digital archive
Featuring the oral histories, documents, and visual materials gathered through the project, making them accessible for researchers, educators, and the public. An educational hub
Offering classroom-ready lesson plans, video modules, and tools for teachers, ensuring these stories reach students across the country.
Together, these efforts will make sure Muslim voices are heard and that Muslim histories take their place in America’s story—both in 2026 and for generations to come.
Join us in making this possible—your support today will help bring these stories to national attention and secure their place in America’s shared history.
